The Outcome

My vision for HYM was to create a music streaming service that used AI and any information the user would feed it with to create fully personalized playlists that could be created with and shared with friends or that could be turned into physical vinyl records shipped to the user. I ultimately chose the name HYM taking inspiration from the word Hymn, meaning a song or poem of praise to God or a god as well as from the Greek goddess of marriage Hymenaios to emphasize that HYM represents the marriage between music and personality. The logo is a combination mark, combining the word HYM with a soundboard icon. I chose the soundboard as the icon as soundboards (or digital mixers) are used to combine, route and change the properties of audio inputs. It is the ultimate representation of music and personalization, making it the perfect symbol for HYM, the ultimate music personalization app. HYM is a brand that is meant to be fun, emotional, innovative and exciting and this is reflected in its brand identity and in my various applications of the brand.
